Our school is a vibrant, friendly and happy place to learn and work. We celebrate the diversity of our school community and work to ensure that all of our families feel that their culture is valued and respected. We put wellbeing at the heart of all we do, for all members of our school community. Whether through the Felix Project, uniform swap shop and bespoke support for families; through Place2Be and well trained staff for the children; or a well established Wellbeing Team for staff, our school community is a very happy one.

Welcome back to school!

School clubs

At Churchfield, we aim to make our wrap-around care as convenient and as flexible as possible. We have a Breakfast Club beginning at 8:00am and an After School Club which runs until 6:00pm. There are extra curricular clubs too.

School Admissions

Applying for a school place

Churchfield Primary School admits 60 children into Nursery and 90 into Reception each September. The school admissions policy is in line with London Borough of Enfield procedures. The Local Education Authority is responsible for admissions to our county schools, and any parent whose request for a place is refused has the right to appeal to this body.

Progression in knowledge and skills

Our well thought out and sequenced curriculum enables children to make excellent progress in all subject areas, ensuring children have opportunities to recall and build on prior learning. Our ‘fast feedback’ approach promotes timely responses to assessment findings during lessons, and ensures that children are given the challenge or support they need.

Imagination and Creativity

Imagining, trying new ways of doing things, and experimenting help develop critical thinking in children and foster creative problem solving. We provide opportunities to nurture children’s imagination and creativity, through our rich and exciting curriculum.

Reading and vocabulary

Reading is at the heart of our curriculum, as we believe this offers children a key to successful learning across all subjects.The development of children’s language is crucial to their success across the curriculum and therefore subject specific vocabulary is prioritised and promoted.

Nature and Environment

We are extremely fortunate to have large, beautiful outside grounds in our school, including a farm! Pupils get regular opportunities to bring their learning alive outside of the classroom. Our pupils are passionate about improving the environment and our Eco Warriors are instrumental in driving change and improving environmental awareness throughout the school.

Growth Mindset and resilience

We promote children’s resilience through developing a growth mindset. We teach children to take risks in their learning and not be afraid of making mistakes; to push themselves, even when things are difficult, as well as strategies to help them to succeed if things are difficult.
